I will hand over power to whoever Ghanaians will chose – Akufo Addo

The president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has guaranteed Ghanaians that the December 2024 elections will be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful, and he reaffirmed his commitment to transferring power to the winning candidate.

 

He expressed appreciation for Ghanaians’ efforts in sustaining a peaceful environment and highlighted his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the upcoming elections do not disturb the country’s current tranquility

At the grand durbar of the 2024 Anlo Hogbetsotso Za festival on November 2, 2024, President Akufo-Addo thanked the chiefs and residents of Anlo for their support throughout his administration.

 

He remarked, “Without peace, there can be no proper development. The peace we currently enjoy will guide us through the elections on December 7. I assure the people of Anlo, the Volta region, and all of Ghana that the upcoming elections will be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful.”

 

He continued, “On December 7, I will hand over leadership to whoever the people of Ghana elect to succeed me.”

 

The President also took a moment to express his gratitude to the chiefs and community members for their support and thanked all Ghanaians for upholding peace during his time in office.

 

The festival, which took place in Anloga, attracted dignitaries, traditional leaders, and community members celebrating Anlo heritage and Ghana’s cultural diversity, with Togbi Sri III, the Awoemefia (Overlord), leading the proceedings.

 

Prominent attendees included chiefs from various regions, such as Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, Omanhen (Paramount Chief) of the Oguaa Traditional Area, and Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III, Omanhene (Paramount Chief) of New Juaben, highlighting national unity.

 

The festival showcased lively performances of songs, dances, and customs, emphasizing the rich culture and traditions of the Anlo people and celebrating Ghana’s shared heritage.
