Asamoah Gyan opens up about his biggest career regret

Asamoah Gyan internationally missed WC penalty - NDC MP | 3NewsThe Former Black Stars captain  Asamoah Gyan, has disclosed that his  all time  regret in his entire footballing career happens to be missing Ghana’s crucial penalty against Uruguay in the quater finls of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Thats missing out on further making history at the world’s biggest stage with the Blackstars.

Asamoah Gyan was an astute striker who was known for his brilliance in attacking positions and his ability to score very important  goals for the teams he always found himself playing for.

Asamoah Gyan is Africas all time goalscorer at the World Cup,yet every top football star  has ugly  moments in their career, and Gyan insists that, his penalty miss in 2010 World Cup  is one that will huant  him  for a long time.

 

 

Gyan made this Declaration on  Onua TV on the Maakye show, : “I live in my dream and everyone sees the passion I play football with. That penalty miss was my biggest regret. That’s the only negativity that can be associated with me.”

In addition to aiding Ghana to three consecutive FIFA World Cup campaigns in 2006, 2010, and 2014, Gyan also has the record for the most goals scored by an African player in World Cup history—six—and has led Ghana to two Africa Cup of Nations finals in 2010 and 2015.

But while Gyan’s career serves as stands out as of how much perseverance and hard effort can result in personal fulfilment, missed opportunities may also haunt athletes for years after they pass, both in their professional and personal life.
