Akufo-Addo celebrates Ghana’s first female Vice President-elect

President Akufo-Addo celebrates the historic accomplishments of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s first female vice president, and congratulates her on her appointment.

Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the vice president elect, has received praise from President Nana Akufo-Addo for her remarkable and groundbreaking accomplishments as a woman.

When the new NDC government met with the outgoing government at Jubilee House on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, to start the transition process, Akufo-Addo was full of praise for Ghana’s first female vice president-elect.

We are proud to have a female vice president for the first time in our country’s history. He declared, “This is an accomplishment that we should all celebrate.”

He also acknowledged their victory and wished the president-elect and vice president-elect success in their new administration, extending his sincere congratulations to them.

Topics to be covered at the conference include the formation of a joint transitional team to ensure a seamless handover of power.
