You don’t have to collapse my business because of political rivalry -Dr Kwesi Ndoum

The founder of  the progressive People’s party (PPP(and the Chairman of Group Induom Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, Chas expressed deep frustration over the collapse of his businesses in Ghana, especially the defunct GN Bank.

He lamented that political opposition should not lead to such detrimental outcomes for his enterprises.

In a recent Facebook Live session on October 31, 2024, Dr. Nduom expressed frustration over the collapse of his business ventures, alleging that the current government is intentionally undermining his enterprises due to his political opposition. This isn’t the first instance of such complaints, highlighting ongoing tensions between him and the ruling administration.

Dr. Nduom drew a comparison to the United States , referencing Elon Musk’s political disagreements with President Joe Biden. He pointed out that despite Musk’s opposition, he continues to thrive and benefit from government programs and grants. Nduom emphasized that no one calls for the destruction of Musk’s businesses simply because of his political affiliations, highlighting what he perceives as a double standard in how his situation is treated.

He asserted that the political climate in Ghana is vastly different from that in the United States. He argued that if the U.S. operated under the same political practices as Ghana, it would struggle to thrive. His comments reflect concerns about the impact of political rivalry on business and economic stability in Ghana.

Dr. Nduom expressed his disappointment, stating that being a political opponent should not warrant the shutdown of his businesses, as he claims has happened. His GN Bank was significantly impacted in 2017 when the Nana Addo administration restructured the banking sector, leading to the establishment of the Consolidated Bank of Ghana. This restructuring has been a point of contention for him, highlighting ongoing frustrations with government actions against his ventures.
