Don’t risk your life or kill your own people for the U.S, France and corrupt African politicians - Wanlov tells Ghana Army

The Ghanaian military force that will be sent as part of the ECOWAS unit to deal with the coup in Niger has been advised not to sacrifice their lives in this endeavour by Romanian-Ghanaian rapper Wanlov the Kubolor.

Wanlov’s viewpoint, expressed in a video that has received support from celebrities like Sarkodie, is motivated by his anxiety about the danger that the Ghanaian armed force may encounter if it were to take part in a fight in Niger.

“Niger got rid of their akufu addo without losing a single life, and now you’re going there to put their main problem back in power for France and America against the will of the people of Niger to keep exploiting them anyhow. Don’t risk your life or kill yor own people for these corrupt people oh! I dey ask for vim.”

The “African Gipsy” singer believes that rushing into military action without taking into account the bigger dynamics at play could be harmful, especially if it entails Africans battling one another.

Wanlov also made reference to the fact that France, the previous colonial power in Niger, continues to exert substantial influence there.

“Chale, this is Kubolor. I have a message for the Ghana Army,” he said. I implore you guys to put your lives at danger and engage in combat with other black people in Niger on Macron’s behalf.

In the movie, Wanlov emphasised the deceitful methods traditionally used by European colonisers, such as France, to take advantage of people of colour.

He argued that Africans shouldn’t be divided against one another as a result of the continued exploitation of Africa and its people by outside interests.

Wanlov’s appeal also discussed the complexities of international relations and the difficulties that post-colonial African countries face.

“The people of Niger decided to topple their government because the fact is that the leaders there are corrupt. He remarked in Ghanaian pidgin English, “Going to fight in Niger will instead be endorsing terrible leadership and manipulation by the whites.

The recently-concluded coup in Niger, which resulted in the removal of the country’s democratically elected leader, has drawn attention to the continued meddling in African.
