Tano North NPP PC Urges Youth Not to Sacrifice Their Lives for Politicians

Gideon Boako, the Spokesperson for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Tano North, has urged the youth to refrain from engaging in political violence. He advised them not to sacrifice their lives for any politician.

Speaking at a peace walk and talk event in Duayaw Nkwanta, Boako stressed that no politician, regardless of their party affiliation or status, is worth risking one’s life or shedding blood for.

The event, which took place on Saturday, November 16th, was organized by the Tano North Local Council of Churches with the aim of fostering peace and unity as the nation approaches the 2024 elections. The Council, recognizing the importance of maintaining a calm and harmonious atmosphere during such a politically charged period, brought together a wide range of stakeholders from across the community.

The gathering served as an opportunity for religious leaders, political representatives, and local authorities to join forces in advocating for peaceful electioneering, encouraging citizens to engage in the electoral process without resorting to violence or divisiveness. Through this initiative, the Council sought to remind everyone of the need for collaboration and mutual respect, ensuring that the upcoming elections are conducted in a manner that promotes national stability and cohesion.

The gathering attracted a diverse group of participants, including representatives from various political parties, local community leaders, and traditional chiefs. This broad participation reflected a unified commitment to promoting peace and harmony in the lead-up to the upcoming elections. The event served as a platform for all stakeholders to come together and emphasize the importance of maintaining a peaceful electoral process, highlighting the collective responsibility of every individual in ensuring that political differences do not escalate into violence.

In his address, Dr. Boako emphasized the crucial need for maintaining harmony and urged the youth to prioritize their personal well-being over partisan interests. He reminded the audience that politicians, regardless of their party affiliation, come and go, but the safety and future of the community should always take precedence. “No politician is worth the sacrifice of your blood,” he asserted, stressing that young people should focus on engaging in the political process in a positive and constructive manner, without resorting to violence or conflict. His message underscored the importance of peaceful participation, encouraging the youth to be mindful of their long-term welfare and the collective good of the nation.
