Michael Owusu Addo, known as Sarkodie, the Ghanaian rapper, has denied the claim that he refused to participate in the video shoot for Kofi Mole’s song “Makoma.”
Kofi Mole revealed that despite several attempts to get Sarkodie to participate in the music video for their collaboration on “Makoma,” the rapper showed no interest or concern. Kofi Mole shared this in response to an X user who criticized him for not promoting the song enough, suggesting that Kofi Mole failed to get Sarkodie involved.
The user wrote in Pidgin English: “One day, ago organise kanta boys make we put Kofi Mole for table make we lash am. Promo no enter this song inside koraa. You made a whole Sarkodie turn Bruno Mars.”
In response, Kofi Mole stated: “I was ready to shoot a video but never got any response from Sark and the team after multiple texts and calls. I let that slide.”
On Tuesday, January 28, Yaw Skyface, the director of the “Makoma” video, supported Kofi Mole’s claim, stating that Sarkodie missed two separate dates scheduled for him to join the recording sessions for the collaboration. According to Yaw Skyface, Sarkodie did not show up on either occasion.
In response to a post on X regarding Yaw Skyface’s comments, Sarkodie wrote: “Yaa monma me din nda kakra me sr3 mo. [I] have no idea about this, and if it actually happened, there was miscommunication somewhere. I’m only responding to this because I have love for my superstar @kofi_mole. I don’t play games… I’m in or not.”
