Rema, an internationally renowned Nigerian superstar, recently triumphed over his big gun competitors Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido to take home the MTV VMAs awards. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter (THR) following the Oscar presentation about his blockbuster Calm Down and his friendship with Selena Gomez. Rema claimed in the interview that working with the Latina singer was natural and that Selena alone could have pulled off the remix better than anybody else.

Rema, a young and rising of Afro-rave music superstar from Nigeria, recently explained why his connection to Mexican-American performer Selena Gomez feels like a godsend. The Afrobeat musician said during the interview that the friendship he shares with the American musician, Selena, is what led to the remix of Calm Down with Selena being natural and inevitable.

Rema also expressed his gratitude for Calm Down’s ability to introduce Afrobeat to new audiences. Rema declares, “I wanna link up with all the girls dem.” The Nigerian musician also mentioned in his conversation with THR how much he is looking forward to working with Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion.

Rema concluded in the interview with a cute but short quote that got people talking online. He said: “I want to meet Meg, I want to meet Nicki. Like seriously I want to link up with all the girls dem.”
