Prophet Kofi Oduro, General Overseer of Alabaster International Ministries, has criticized Ghana’s security agencies in the wake of the FBI’s arrest of several individuals allegedly linked to fraudulent activities.
During a sermon to his congregation on June 22, 2025, Prophet Kofi Oduro referred to Ghana’s security system as “flawed,” expressing disbelief at how the country’s security forces could remain unaware of the rampant fraud occurring under their watch.
“You’re in Ghana, yet your system is so weak that another country, like the U.S., can deploy agencies such as the FBI to come and arrest criminals here—something your own system fails to do. And still, you make noise,” he remarked.
Prophet Oduro also cited the case of Ghanaian-born U.S. Army Major Kojo Dartey, who was sentenced to 70 months in prison for smuggling firearms into Ghana, as additional evidence of the country’s failing security system.
He added, “There’s a Ghanaian who became a Major in the U.S. Army and used that position to smuggle firearms into the country for four years—yet no one in Ghana detected it. It took American authorities to arrest him. Ghanaian security officials saw the illegal activities but chose to look the other way.”
Prophet Oduro’s comments come in the aftermath of the FBI’s arrest of several Ghanaian businessmen accused of involvement in a $100 million fraud scheme. Among the suspects were Kofi Boateng, also known as Kofi Boat; Joseph Boateng, popularly called Dada Joe Remix; Inusah Ahmed, also known as Agony; and others.
