His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President-elect, has revealed a number of important appointments to the Office of the President, set to take effect on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
The appointments include experienced individuals who will take on crucial roles in the forthcoming administration.
Julius Debrah, a trusted ally and experienced politician, has been selected as Chief of Staff. Dr. Callistus Mahama, a respected public servant, will take on the role of Executive Secretary to the President.
For security matters, Prosper Douglas Bani has been appointed Head of the Interim Security Taskforce, tasked with overseeing national security and stability during the transition phase.
Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, renowned for her expertise in governmental affairs, will take on the position of Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs. Augustus Goosie Tannoh has been appointed as Presidential Advisor, with a focus on promoting the 24-hour economy and accelerating export growth.
Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, a highly respected legal expert with a wealth of experience, has been appointed as the Legal Counsel to the President. In this role, she will provide expert legal advice and counsel to the President, ensuring that all actions and decisions align with the law.
Meanwhile, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a seasoned political figure with a strong communication background, has been named Acting Spokesperson to the President. In this capacity, he will be responsible for articulating the President’s policies, addressing public inquiries, and managing communication between the Office of the President and the media, as well as the public.
