In response to incorrect information about reposting agreements spreading on social media, the National Service Scheme (NSS) has issued a warning to its personnel.
The NSS claims that a person going by the name and contact “Mr. Victor NSS-0548313412″ has been disseminating false information concerning the Scheme’s Deployment Modules, particularly in the fields of teaching, agriculture, and accounting aid.
Unaware National Service Personnel are being enticed by this individual to contact him and pay a fee for a change in their posts.
The NSS emphasises that there are no such plans in place to switch where service members who have been assigned to these modules would be posted.
“The Scheme does not know any such person as MR. VICTOR NSS,” the NSS statement said. No such person has been hired to interact with the public on the Scheme’s behalf.
The management therefore recommends the public and all members of the National Service to dismiss any false information that may be spreading and to treat any such claims with the contempt they merit.
To avoid misleading innocent service members, the security authorities have been ordered to locate and detain the person disseminating this false information.
“Management therefore wishes to strongly advise all National Service Personnel and the public to ignore the false information being circulated, and any other similar falsehoods, and to treat them with the contempt that they deserve,”
The NSS recommends that all National Service Personnel and the general public address their issues directly with any of the Scheme’s Regional or District Secretariats or the headquarters rather than relying on potentially false information from unreliable sources.
