Adwoa Safo, the current member of parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has lost the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primary, which took place on Saturday, January 27.
Adwoa Safo scored 328, but Mike Oquaye Jr., the CEO of the Free Zones Authority, polled over 1194, and she lost. With just under 100 votes, Sheela Oppong Sakyi, the third candidate, finished third.
Adwoa Safo, Dr. Mike Oquaye, and Sheela Oppong Sakyi engaged in a fierce three-way race in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency. The NPP members in the constituency faced a pivotal moment during the primaries.

Adwoa Safo, the MP for Dome-Kwabenya since 2013, lost, which represents a dramatic change in the political climate in the area.
