The National Democratic Congress (NDC) last Saturday embarks on its Upper West Regional Campaign code-named ‘Operation 11-11.’
The intention is to win all the 11 seats in the region and also win the presidential votes to ensure a conquest for the NDC presidential candidate.
The NDC as it stands has eight out of the 11 constituencies in the region while the New Patriotic Party has three, namely: Nandom, Lambusie and Sissala East.
The party also launched its operation “The five Northern regions for Ghana” aimed at annexing all the seats in the five regions in the northern part of the country.”
Giving a speech at the launch, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu,indicted the party faithful in the region to lead the pursuit to annex all the seats in the Northern part of the country by ensuring that the NDC won all the 11 seats in the region.
He said over the years, the region had showcased its support for the party by voting abundantly for the NDC in the previous elections. He said it was time they repeated the same by leading the way and reclaiming the seats the party lost to the NPP in the last elections.
Before the launch, the party, accompanied by almost all the parliamentary aspirants from the region in addition with some national and regional executives, went on a walk through some of the principal streets of Wa before converging on the Tendaaba Primary School Park for a mini-rally.
