Mr.Ebenezer Smith, popularly known as Chef Smith is a Ghanaian chef, has expressed regret over his fake Guinness World Record (GWR) certificate.
At a press conference held in Accra on Tuesday, Chef Smith “claimed” to be the new Guinness World Record (GWR) holder for the longest individual cooking marathon, with a remarkable duration of 802 hours and 25 minutes.
However, a source from GWR revealed that the certificate presented by Chef Smith at the press conference does not originate or come from Guinness World Record (GWR).

The chef was arrested by the police shortly after announcing his purported award, over a dispute with his sponsor, the Amadia Shopping Centre, Spintex, in the capital Accra, where he held his cooking marathon in March.
They accused him of breaching a contractual agreement by not informing them about the new developments regarding the alleged confirmation of the award.
GWR States that “The current and true current record holder is: The longest cooking marathon (individual) is 119 hr 57 min 16 sec and was achieved by Alan Fisher (Ireland) in *Matsue* , *Shimane* , Japan, from 28 September to 3rd October 2023.”
