Mohammed Kudus needs time to settle at West Ham – Chris Hughton

Mohammed Kudus, who signed a five-year contract with West Ham United on Sunday, would need time to adjust, according to Black Stars boss Chris Hughton.

Kudus moved from Ajax to West Ham, with rumours claiming that the transfer value approached 40 million euros.

Hughton, who has a personal connection to West Ham from his playing days, spoke about the team’s newest addition in an interview with the Athletic. He stated, “I’ve known Mohammed for over a year, and he’s a talented player.”

He went on to say of Kudus, “He’s had a good upbringing and he’s developed over the last few years at Ajax.” Kudus has now followed in the footsteps of what they’ve done for young players. He is a versatile player who is constantly improving.”

Hughton recognised the significance of Kudus’ move from Ajax to West Ham: “He’s been at a top club in Ajax, and now he’s joined another in West Ham.” He will need time to adjust, but this is another step in his development, and I hope he does well. I’m overjoyed to see him in the Premier League.”

Kudus might make his West Ham debut against Luton Town in the Premier League on Friday.
