According to the Athletic, West Ham United and attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus are nearing a deal.
A formal offer of €41 million from West Ham includes a further €3 million in prospective add-ons. The 10% sell-on clause is also included in this proposed agreement, and Ajax is anticipated to accept it and release Kudus.
With the 23-year-old Ghanaian, personal conditions have been negotiated, opening the door for a potential five-year contract with a sixth-year option.
The Athletic had already claimed that Ajax had turned down West Ham’s initial offer for Kudus. A one-year contract extension was given to Kudus in April, but he declined it because his term expires in 2025.
Since he caught the attention of several elite clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal, including Kudus, his name has been brought up frequently throughout the summer transfer window. Brighton & Hove Albion had previously accepted a proposal for the attacking midfielder, but personal terms proved to be a roadblock.
After coming from Danish club Nordsjaelland three years ago, Kudus has made his impact on Ajax. He has 16 goals in 63 Eredivisie games. In 24 games for Ghana, he has scored seven goals, including two during the most recent World Cup in Qatar.
