The minister of health DR. Bernard Okoe Boye has instructed the Ghana health service ( GHS) to investigate the alleged abandonment of a patient at Gomoa Ojobi and to submit it’s investigation within a month. The committee which consists of Deputy Director General of Ghana health service, a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon from Ridge Hospital, Representatives from the ministry of health and the social welfare department and a senior nurse manager.
The committee’s duty is to determine the full circumstances of the case and take the appropriate measures.
Their findings will focus on bringing patient’s identity running a background check, where the patient is from and where she was heading to be and to be admitted
into Trauma and specialist Hospital and diagnostic center.
It will also look into the processes that took place in the patient’s discharge and transportation to Ojobi and look into all individuals involved in these matter, and report on all relevant matters arising for the incident.

The committee which consists of the Deputy Director General of Ghana health service, a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon from Ridge Hospital, representatives form the ministry of health and the social welfare department and a senior nurse manager is expected to give a comprehensive recommendations to prevent similar problems and improve patients care standard at healthcare centers under the Ghana health service ( GHS).
