Michy, a Ghanaian socialite, has spoken up about her idea of love, stating she thought she had fell in love when she was younger, only to discover it was lust.
Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Shatta Wale’s ex-girlfriend remarked that true love endures in the face of adversity.
According to her, sometimes people believe they are in love but subsequently realise they are not.
“I think I’ve [fell in love before], but I was young.” And, in retrospect, I believe it was more of a responsibility of care and possibly lust.
We must be honest with ourselves. I believe that many people are in sexual relationships and are hooked, but when it comes to the genuine scandals and crises of the relationship, they can’t bear it, yet love endures. “Are we in love or just having fun with each other?” she wondered.
Michy, born Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, began dating dancehall superstar Shatta Wale when she was seventeen (17) years old and eventually had a child with him, Majesty. However, their relationship soured a few years later.
She recalls that, although though she is no longer with Shatta Wale, she believes they are better off as business partners or friends.
“It’s going to be difficult to create a relationship like mine with Shatta Wale with another person.” We’re more like best buddies. “He’s like my brother,” she told Delay seven years ago.
Michy also told Delay that she was drawn to Shatta Wale because of his wild and provocative personality. When she met the dancehall artiste, she would even slip away from home for weeks to live with him.
Her mother, she claims, was very severe on her as a child. She even arrested her first boyfriend.
