Mahama’s Nomination is A Step Towards Change – Stan Dogbe

NDC confirms Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang as Mahama's 2024 running mate - Graphic OnlineMr John Dramani Mahama and Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang had their  Nomination forms turned in to the Electoral Commission by Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the middle of Accra, amid a lively political atmosphere characterized by a lot of excitement and chants from supporters.

The EC chairperson received the nomination paperwork from the delegation. Every signature on the forms attests to the large number of supporters who agree with Mahama’s vision for advancement. Following that procedure, Mahama and Naana Jane were officially declared the party’s front-runners for the general elections of 2024.
While touring the Bono Region, Mahama expressed gratitude to the national chairman, the delegation that submitted the forms, and everyone who had supported his nomination across the nation. In his speech to the Sampa chiefs and populace, he restated his steadfast commitment to reviving Ghana’s economy, which he claims has been undermined by the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administrations.
“We’ve made progress toward our Change agenda today. Echoing the hopes of many Ghanaians for a better future, he said, “As a nation, we face formidable challenges, and it is our duty to reset the damaged economy and build the Ghana we want.”

The Mahama campaign would carry on with town hall meetings, policy discussions, youth events, community engagements, interactions with different stakeholders, and a renewed focus on involving Ghanaians in the weeks preceding the elections on December 7.

The leader of the NDC has pledged an economic plan that places a higher priority on expanding access to healthcare, building infrastructure, and creating jobs. The former president’s message is crystal clear: prosperity, jobs, and accountability are essential elements of a reset economy.
The momentum is building as he tours the nation, presenting his vision everywhere he goes, thanks to a common optimism that unites people of all ages, from rural to urban, and from the countryside.

One thing is evident as large crowds assemble in front of palaces, traditional councils, community centers, marketplaces, and churches: Mahama’s remarks foster hope that change is on the way.

Thus, Mahama’s nomination forms were not submitted only as a formality on Monday. It was a call to action that united the country behind a single objective.

Mahama is focused on the future and is adamant about leading Ghana toward a new era—building the Ghana we all desire together.
