Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and Member of Parliament for Banda, has stated that plans are underway to raise the salaries of Zoomlion Ghana Limited workers.
Workers of Zoomlion Ghana Limited have raised concerns over poor working conditions and inadequate salaries over the years.
In an exclusive interview with Ahmed Ibrahim on March 18, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs shared that he has been in discussions with the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to explore ways of improving the salaries of Zoomlion workers. He emphasized that efforts are underway to address the concerns and enhance the conditions of service for the workers.
He also reiterated his commitment to supporting workers within the established framework, ensuring the timely and proper disposal and recycling of waste.
“We are re-introducing the town council ‘summon summon,’ and we will reform Zoomlion to meet the growing demand for sanitation,” Ahmed Ibrahim emphasized.
