WWE superstar Kofi Kingston has opened a library and digital centre in his hometown of Atwima Takyiman in Ghana’s Ashanti Region.

Kingston was born in Kumasi, Ghana, but moved to the USA with his family when he was just a little child.

The wrestler and his mother left their native country last year to start building an ICT lab and library media centre in the neighbourhood.

The project, known as the CLICK for Quality Education Foundation, aims to increase computer literacy in underdeveloped regions of the nation.

Kingston officially opened the Library and Digital Centre in Atwima Takyiman over the weekend.

The wrestler ceremoniously cut the ribbon to officially open the Centre, after which some students entered to utilise its computers.

When Kingston won the WWE championship by defeating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, he created history.

The 42-year-old also made history by being the first African to ever win the WWE Championship. He then travelled to Ghana with the championship belt.

Prior to meeting Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, he paid President Akufo-Addo a courtesy call at Jubilee House.
