Speaking at the Ghana Bar Association’s General Conference, Otumfuo emphasized the need for Ghanaians to value their nation by quoting Kofi Kinaata’s hit song “Susuka” and the phrase “Obi nya waye.”
The Asantehene claimed that despite the difficulties, other nations aspired to be like Ghana.
“There are a lot of nations, like Ghana, that aspire to be just like us. He advised us to occasionally take a cue from our musicians and consider a song like “Obi nya waye,” a composition by Kofi Kinaata that translates to “Someone wishes they were like you.”
Following Otumfuo’s referencing, Kinaata took to social media to jubilate in multiple posts.
In a recent post sighted by Allosmediagh.com, the ‘Susuka’ hitmaker disclosed he is receiving massive streams, views, and social media engagements after Otumfuo called out his great artistry prowess
He expressed appreciation to the Asantehene for the huge endorsement.
