Jordan Ayew, a forward for Ghana, reached a new professional milestone on Tuesday when Ghana defeated Liberia in a friendly match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Crystal Palace attacker made his 92nd appearance for the Black Stars and came off the bench to score Ghana’s third goal, sealing a commanding 3-1 victory over the Lone Stars.
Prior to the arrival of Ayew, who scored with eight minutes remaining in the game, Ernest Nuamah and Mohammed Kudus had given Ghana the lead with goals in the 52nd and 59th minutes, respectively.
Only the captain and former captain Asamoah Gyan and Richard Kingson each received 109 and 93 caps for the team.
The former Olympique Marseille striker, who recently turned 32, is currently Ghana’s seventh-highest scorer with 20 goals for the national side.
Ayew hopes to play more for the Black Stars in upcoming matches, such as the 2026 World Cup qualifications that start in November and the 2023 AFCON that takes place in Ivory Coast the following year.
