Jimin’s new single *Who* is a quick win for the BTS star all worldwide. The tune is a world smash, thanks largely to a very healthy first-week sales sum—one it has managed in a number of countries. The song allows the superstar to return to a handful of charts in the U.S., and it even helps him break one of his most important matches.
*Who* lives at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart this week. The single launches top Billboard’s ranking of the bestselling individual tunes in the country with 52,000 copies purchased, according to Luminate.
Park Ji-min earns his sixth career No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart as “Who” arrives. That number includes only his solo work, as he’s managed many more champions as one-seventh of BTS. With another ruler to his credit, the singer makes history in a very specific fashion.
As “Who” hits No. 1, Jimin breaks out of his tie with his BTS teammate Jung Kook. The two had previously been matched for the most leaders among South Korean solo artists on the Digital Song Sales chart, with five apiece. Now, Jimin has pulled ahead—at least for the time being.
Jimin first reached the highest point on the Digital Song Sales tally in 2022. He joined fellow South Korean artist Ha Sung Woon on the tune “With You,” which ran the show for one frame back in May of that year.
In 2023, Jimin made the sales ranking his own. He scored a trio of No. 1s, upping his career total significantly. In April, both “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” and “Like Crazy” hit the top spot back-to-back, with the BTS star replacing himself in first place. A month later, he returned as a featured artist on “Angel, Pt. 1” alongside Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, Muni Long and others.
*Who” marks Jimin’s second No. 1 of 2024 on the Digital Song Sales chart. In the very beginning of the year, he sent “Closer Than This” to the peak position for one turn.
Jung Kook’s accumulation of winners is fairly similar to Jimin’s. He has reached the throne on the Digital Song Sales chart both on his own and with others. The singer* started his run in 2022 and added to his list of winners several times in 2023. Jung Kook has yet to hit No. 1 this year.
