On election day, Kobina Tahir Hammond, the incumbent member of parliament for Adansi Asokwa, caused chaos at the Armajaro polling place by threatening to have one of his rivals defeated.
Prior to this, he had claimed that Samuel Binfo had dispatched his machomen to attack his people and that he was going to exact retribution by making sure that “my other candidate, Samuel Binfo, is mercilessly beaten to pulp.” “I’ll beat him up and humiliate him at the polls,” he said.
Additionally, he said to the on-site cops, “I’m just putting you on notice.”
A previous attempt by the MP from Adansi Asokwa to have Samuel Binfo removed from office was denied by the Appeals Committee.
KT Hammond is seeking a fifth term as a member of Parliament.
