Kennedy Agyepong, the New Patriotic Party presidential candidate, has stated that if elected president of Ghana, he will reshuffle his ministers every two months.
This was said by the Assin Central MP in an interview with Takoradi’s Skyy Power FM.
He claimed that when ministers have their positions for an extended period of time, they become complacent, grow pompous and arrogant and act inappropriately with no repercussions.
When asked about reports of a coming reshuffle by President Akufo-Add, he responded that he was in favour of the action since it would force ministers to pay attention and work efficiently.
Instead of waiting three to four years to reshuffle his ministers, Agyapong said he would do it as frequently as every two months. He also added that any appointee who misappropriates state funds will not get away with it under his administration.
He continued by denouncing the UTV invasion by some thugs from the ruling party, stating that the act tarnished the NPP’s well-known democratic norms and threw doubt on them.
