I went to prison because of Kantanka; talking about them makes me cry – Wode Maya

Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, better known as Wode Maya, has disclosed that he was imprisoned because of the Ghanaian vehicle manufacturer, Kantanka, and that recounting the story makes him sad.
The Ghanaian content producer stated that he believes Ghanaians only help you when you succeed in life, and that hearing about Kantanka makes him unhappy.

“Every time I hear Kantanka, I get sad because there’s more to the story.” I don’t believe I stated everything. ‘Africans don’t support the dream,’ I believe I should copyright. “They only support you if you are successful,” he explained.

“It feels good when you’re doing something and your people support you,” he said, “but it doesn’t always come out that way.”

The vlogger recounts his experience when he reached out to Kantanka to provide them a free promotion because he is an advocate for ‘Made in Ghana’ items in a conversation with Helen Appiah-Ampofo on TV3’s Twitter platform.

“When I first started promoting ‘Made in Africa’ products, I contacted them because I knew Ghana makes cars.” I thought it was an amazing idea to put out there. I went there at least ten times. I wrote letters and emails, despite the fact that I believe Africans do not read emails. When it comes to things like these, they always want you to go immediately there. As a result, I went.

He continued to tell the scenario, saying that the automotive team was not giving them what they wanted and kept tossing them around. He also described how his driver killed a man returning from his farm.

“Anytime people ask me about the Kantanka story, I don’t want to talk about it because there’s still so much pain,” he says. Kantanka has landed me in prison. We spent the weekend at a police station in Cape Coast, and I had to fund the entire funeral.”

After reflecting on the upsetting encounter, the Ghanaian digital media personality discussed how some netizens criticise him for endorsing Nigerian products. He also stated that he rarely speaks about the incident since it makes him extremely upset.

“Ghanaians are always insulting me and asking why I’m promoting a Nigerian brand instead of a Ghanaian brand, but so many people are unaware of my Kantanka story.” They can’t deny they did it because I witnessed it so many times. I rarely discuss this subject since Kantanka makes me emotional. “I just don’t want to bring the pain back,” he said.
