Ghanaian gospel musician, Mark Anim Yirenkyi , recognized for his distinctive gospel music style reminiscent of country music and engaging themes, has captured the hearts of music lovers of all ages and faiths in Ghana for the past 26 years had said that he no longer has believe in religious songs .
During a recent conversation on October 30, 2024, well-known gospel artist Mark Anim-Yirenkyi stated that he has moved away from believing in religious music. He stressed that he now distinguishes between good music and bad music.
“The message of a music is something that must serve generations, so I believe in good music and bad music. I don’t believe in religious music again” he stated.
Highlighting the importance of music, Anim-Yirenkyi urged that “Governments should encourage people to create music that truly reminds them of their role in nation-building.”

He noted that music is spiritual, although some have misleadingly categorized it as mere entertainment. Music is meant to remind individuals of their identity, heritage, and future. His song “Bibini” from the latest album “Back to Yah” celebrates the originality and supremacy of the black race, encouraging Africans to embrace their true nature.
