I have not endorsed anybody- Akuffo Speaks after Casting His vote In NPP Super Delegates Conference.

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer candidature is being endorsed by some NPP members, according to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He claimed, however, that he had not sponsored any of the flagbearer candidates.

He asserts that he cannot control the results of the elections.

After voting in the super delegates congress on Saturday, August 26, he spoke with reporters and emphasised that the flagbearer must rally support from all members of the party to help end the 8-year electoral cycle.

“There are some who are calling on me to endorse their candidate, but I haven’t endorsed anyone,” he insisted.

Delegates will vote to narrow the field of contenders from 10 to five.

Kennedy Agyapong, Alan Kyerematen, Joe Gartey, Kwadwo Poku, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Francis Addai Nimoh, Dr. Kofi Kunadu Apraku, Boakye Agyarko, and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are the ten candidates.

The NPP leadership informed all delegates before to the super delegates congress that it is illegal to openly display cast ballots.

The party provided notice that anyone who violates this clause would face legal consequences in line with the law.

Delegates are now informed that any ballots cast and publicly exhibited will be disqualified, according to a statement released on August 24 by the Presidential Election Committee.

“We wish to reiterate that there will be no Congress on the day of voting, and voting will strictly be walk-in,” the statement continued.

“In light of this, it is anticipated that no opportunity will exist for any National Party Executive, official, or regional executive to publicly address delegates on the day of the vote.

“With these rules in place, no one will be able to determine the voting preferences and patterns of particular voters once the voting process is over, we want to reassure all relevant parties, including stakeholders, delegates, aspirants, and the general public. This  ensures the confidentiality and objectivity of the voting process.
