Afua Asantewaa of Ghana has been disqualified from participating in the sing-a-thon by Guinness World Records (GWR).
On Friday, February 23, the notification was made in response to a query regarding the record attempt from an X user.
“Unfortunately, Afua’s Guinness World Record attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful but we hope that she will make another attempt soon,” the GWR tweeted in response to the inquiry.
Ghanaians on X have responded to the news of her disqualification in a variety of ways.
Some have wished her well and expressed disbelief at the news, but others appear pleased because of a recent remark made disparagingly about Ghanaians.
