In a keenly Contested election held on the 13th of August 2024 at the University Premises and the Music Association Department, It was Ewuarama Who amassed the greater portion of the votes and emerged as the victor of the polls.
With the Universities Rich history and musical repute as one of the best Universities in the Country and the world to povide world class musicians, it comes as a bigger surprise not to have ever had a female student ascending as a Departmental President for this Honarable Institution.

The UEW Music Department like many other Departmants, has historically been under the leadership of predominantly male students And Ewurama’s election into office does not just come as a victory for her personally but rather a momentous occasion for all female students, reiterating the fact that leadership is not defined by gender but by ability, vision, determination and perseverance.
A Brief History Of Ewurama Begyinah.
Ewurama is Ghanaian Police Officer who bears an Of stage name as P.W. Corporal Gifty Abaidoo Begyinah. Born a native Of the Fanteland precisely Cape Coast to the family of the late Rev Mr and Mrs Abaidoo in the Central Region of Ghana. She had her secondary Education in the College of Music and Cultural Studies Mozano, and was called into office in the year 2014. She is a Trumpeter,Keyboardist and Vocalist for the Golden Ladies Band of the Ghana Police service.
P.W. Gifty Abaidoo Begyinah owed her appreciation to the Ghana Police Service who has played has played a crucial role in shaping her craft. PW Corporal Gifty Abaidoo Begyinah of the Kumasi Police Band Unit, is currently advancing her studies at UEW to render her skill more efficient . Her immense dedication and growth has led her to make history as the first-ever female President of the Music Department. Beyond her leadership and Academic excellence, she is a social media influencer and a multi-talented artist, excelling as a trumpeter, vocalist, and keyboardist, using her craft to empower many Ghanaians.
Music Career.
Ewuarama Begyinah Revealed to Allosmediagh that her love,passion and dedication for music began at a very tender age where should could clearly identify all notes of the tonic solfas. She transitioned from being a trumpeter for many seasoned ghanaian gospel artists such as Francis Amo and many others to becoming a main vocalist having worked with the renowned sound engineer and drummer Francis Kweku Osei. Ewurama Begyinah has thrilled Ghanaians with some extraordinary performances on many Ghanaian media platforms including Okay Fm kwanso dwodwoo hosted by Abeiku Aggrey Snatana , Onua Tv maakye Show with Captain Smart and TV3 music,Music show and Currently has two songs to her credit.
