The goal of the ‘Enough is enough’ nationwide demonstration that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) organized on Tuesday, September 17, according to National Chairman Johnson Aseidu Nketia, is to guarantee free, fair, and transparent elections.

He declared, “Our demand is simple.”

A trustworthy register is essential to the EC’s mission of ensuring a free, fair, and transparent election, he continued.

“Transparent elections that uphold our right to select our leaders are all that we desire. Democracies are effectively extinct without the ability to self-determination, and every democracy faces threats periodically. Right now, Ghana’s democracy is seriously threatened, and we want to win.

Every democracy runs the risk of generating a tyrant, but we must be able to defeat that tyrant and bring democracy back to its former glory, and we will succeed in doing so.

“Democratic-minded citizens who are prepared to fight for them can guarantee democracy; elections alone cannot do so.”

Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah of Ellembelle added that the protest was an appeal to the Electoral Commission to act morally before the polls.

According to him, it’s also an appeal for national stability and peace.

During the NDC’s “Enough is Enough” protest against the EC in Sekondi-Takoradi, Buah underlined the party’s demand that the EC address the issues brought up by the parties in order to guarantee a legitimate election.

“We wish to protect democracy.” This appeal is for our nation’s stability and peace. We are making every effort to prevent the electoral commission’s known collusion with the NPP.
We have requested an independent audit since we are aware that the registry lacks credibility. We believe it to be the sole method of guaranteeing the Ghanaian people a legitimate registration that would result in transparent and legitimate elections,” he stated.
