Electoral Commission in ‘corruption’ bed with NPP to rig 2024 polls – NDC’s Ayariga on Limited Voter Registration:

The Electoral Commission is allegedly conspiring to rig the elections for the following year with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), according to the National Democratic Congress.

According to the party, this was arranged through the ongoing limited voter registration drive.

Osman Ayariga, the party’s deputy national youth organiser, claims that the Commission is conspiring with the dominant party to carry out this action.

On September 13, Mr. Ayariga implied on TV3’s New Day that the EC had conspired with the NPP to purposefully send defective equipment to NDC strongholds.

He stated that the goal of this effort is to rig the general elections of 2024.

We shall fight against the unscrupulous New Patriotic Party’s purposeful use of the Electoral Commission to rig the 2024 election. Although the NDC would not permit them to rig the 2024 elections, they are free to remain in the same corrupt position for as long as they like. They may rest assured that won’t take place in this nation.

Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the party’s national chairman, charged the Commission on Tuesday with making it challenging to register voters in the party’s strongholds.

“We are prepared, very prepared, but we also care about the low-income registrants who must deal with the expenses and restrictions associated with being a voter.

At a press conference, he stated, “We presently have our agents and officials in all 268 district offices of the Electoral Commission around the country, and we are closely and actively monitoring the process.

“We will make sure that the EC and NPP’s attempts to rig the system are defeated and soundly defeated.”

Over 1.3 million people who will turn 18 after the most recent voter registration drive are the target of the continuing limited voter registration.

The 21-day exercise started on September 12 and is expected to end on October 2 (Monday).
