Ghanaian rapper Ayigbe Edem has expressed disagreement with comments made by entertainment pundit Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, also known as KOKA, concerning the appointment of Abla Dzifa Gomashie as Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.
In a discussion on January 17, 2025, KOKA suggested that Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, was not the best fit for the role, citing a lack of expertise in managing the creative arts sector. However, Edem responded in a social media post on January 18, 2025, calling KOKA’s statement “empty.”
Ayigbe Edem, a strong supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), criticized KOKA’s statement, describing it as a lengthy speech that offered nothing of value for Ghanaians. “A long speech with nothing said…” he posted on X.
Meanwhile, some social media users have expressed dissatisfaction with KOKA’s statement, urging him to avoid making remarks that could obstruct the progress of the creative arts industry.
On January 16, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama nominated Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Member of Parliament for Ketu South, as the minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.
