The Electoral Commission of Ghana claims displaying the provisional voters’ register is a very vital avenue to ensure that the electoral process is accurate and credible. In a release on social media on Thursday, the EC indicated that the essence of the exercise is to correct all errors and omissions in the register before the final register is printed for voting.
This statement by the EC follows a notice by the opposition National Democratic Congress, pointing out errors that need to be corrected.
Transfer of names without the knowledge of voters creates confusion on Election Day, wake up and do your job properly – Mahama tells EC
The NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, charged the Electoral Commission on Wednesday to do its job well so that the December 2024 elections are clear and without problems.
He said the just-concluded voter exhibition exercise conducted by the EC was fraught with many problems, which could lead to chaos on election day if not repaired. During a campaign event in Adjen Kotoku in the Amasaman area on Wednesday, August 28, Mr. Mahama discussed problems, such as missing names, unauthorized transfers, and people registering more than once, that have yet to be addressed by supporters.
