The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has recapitulated his intentions to introducing a new tax system to aid in economic growth and development if elected as President on December 7, 2024.
He also pledged to train a million young Ghanaians in software development and coding, recognizing the importance of technology in the modern workforce.
He was speaking at the inauguration of a business resource centre at Agormanya in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, which was funded by the World Bank.
The construction of the centre, which started in May 2021 and was completed in 2023, has 11 guest rooms, 15 offices, 300-seat meeting spaces and a restaurant.
“You see this beautiful edifice right here, it was under the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led administration that made it possible for it to be put up and this and many more developmental initiatives await you if you vote for me as your President and Simon Kweku Tetteh as your Member of Parliament (MP),” he stated.

Dr Bawumia asked the people to vote for not just him as President but also the NPP’s parliamentary aspirants.
He read out his intentions for the future, focusing on several key initiatives and commitments such as the need for updates to the National Service Programme, which had been a cornerstone of Ghana’s human resource development. e proposed the introduction of a Ghana Card passport policy, which could potentially modernize the country’s immigration and emigration processes. Dr Bawumia said many other initiatives that were introduced have had a significant impact on the lives of many Ghanaians and demonstrated the party’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens
