Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Praises Christian-Muslim Interfaith Coexistence

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has commended the peaceful coexistence and collaboration between Christians and Muslims in Ghana. He emphasized the importance of religious harmony and the positive impact it has on national unity and development.

Speaking to a congregation at Saint Peters Church in the Kwabre South constituency, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia called on Ghanaians to actively contribute to the protection and preservation of the country’s peace. He stressed the importance of maintaining national stability, urging citizens to remain vigilant and united in safeguarding the peaceful environment that the nation enjoys.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia highlighted that Ghana is one of the five most peaceful countries in Africa, attributing this peace to the unity between Christians and Muslims in the country. He expressed gratitude for this harmony, stating, “We live in peace and do not fight. Today, you see the Imams in Church, you won’t see this anywhere in the whole of Africa.” He emphasized that the country’s religious tolerance sets it apart on the continent.

Additionally, Dr. Bawumia urged the people of Kwabre South to support him in the upcoming elections, calling on them to vote for him as part of their continued commitment to national progress and peace.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia took the opportunity to directly address the pressing concerns of the people of Kwabre South, particularly their challenges with poor road infrastructure. He acknowledged that inadequate roads had been a significant issue for the community, pledging to take immediate action to resolve it. “Your main problem is the condition of your roads. I am committed to fixing all of them for you,” he declared. Dr. Bawumia emphasized his readiness to take full responsibility for the improvement of the area’s road network, reassuring the people that they could trust him with the task. “Put your roads in my hands, give me the steer, and I will drive you safely,” he stated, highlighting his determination to ensure that the people of Kwabre South would have better and safer roads.

He assured them that improving infrastructure, particularly road networks, would be one of his top priorities if he is given the mandate in the upcoming elections. Dr. Bawumia underscored that the development and safety of the area would be at the forefront of his plans, expressing his confidence that with the right leadership, the community would experience significant progress.
