France star striker Kylian Mbappe sustained a broken nose injury after a coalition with Austria’s Kevin Danso in France’s 1-0 victory over Austria in their Euro 2024 opening group game. The incident which resulted in visible pain with blood oozing out of the player’s face necessitated an urgent treatment on the field before the French man was sent to the sidelines.
France Coach Didier Deschamps has provided update on the French captain’s scary Injury which occurred late in the match.
Deschamps expressed a more worrisome concern in the post-match press conference, stating that , “He’s not doing well. His nose got badly hit. We need to check it out, but it seems quite complicated, which is really very unfortunate for us.”
Mbappe’s condition is being assessed by the medical team , and the France Boss could not offer a more definitive prognosis. “I saw him on the massage table. He didn’t get off lightly. It’s still to be seen, and I cannot at this stage give you a precise answer,” he stated.

The Former Paris forward, has recorded 47 goals in 80 appearances for his country and was very instrumental in France recent world Cup success.
France plays against Netherlands which would be a tough challenge without their star forward in their second group outing, and with uncertainty surrounding Mbappe’s selectiond adds up pressure on the French Boss.
Mbappe’s availability for France’s next game on Friday remains in doubt as Deschamps remains non-committal
“I’m not going to go into hypothesis, the French boss statted but the team with Kylian will always be stronger with him. If the news doesn’t go along these lines, then we will have to fight without him.”
