Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, a business magnate and presidential candidate and founder of the New Force Party , has extended a donation of GH¢50,000 to assist traders impacted by the recent catastrophic fire at Kantamanto Market in Accra.
On Friday, January 3, 2025, Nana Kwame Bediako visited the site of the recent fire disaster at Kantamanto Market, where he saw the extensive damage firsthand.
During his visit, Bediako committed to more than just providing immediate financial support. He pledged to take an active role in the reconstruction of the market to help the affected traders. “What I’ve initiated is a fundraising effort to support them. I’ve brought GH¢50,000 as a small contribution, and together, we will work towards rebuilding the market,” Bediako shared with the media at the scene.
Bediako also appealed to the people of Ghana to get involved in the relief efforts, emphasizing the importance of collective support. He urged citizens to contribute in whatever capacity they could to assist the traders who had been devastated by the fire. “I make a heartfelt plea to all Ghanaians: whatever resources you have, no matter how small, please bring them forward and let’s come together to support the traders who have been affected by this disaster,” he implored.
Despite the overwhelming destruction caused by the fire, a number of traders have taken proactive steps to clear the site and prepare for the rebuilding of their businesses.
