Black Sherif, the current Ghana Artiste of the Year, won his first BET Award at the 2023 Hip Hop Awards in the category for Best International Flow.
Nine other well-known rappers competed against Black Sherif, but heprevailed. The late Aka and K.O from South Africa, as well as Sampa The Great from Zimbabwe, were notable competitors. The other international nominees are Major Rd (Brazil), Tasha & Tracie (Brazil), Central Cee (UK), Gazo (France), Ninho (France), and J Hus (UK).
Black Sherif wins his first BET award with this triumph, adding another distinction to his illustrious career. He had previously been nominated in the same “Best International Flow” category for the 2022 edition, but Benjamin Epps ultimately won the prize.
The event for the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards was captured in Atlanta on Tuesday, October 3, and will be shown live on October 10. Black Sherif received several congratulations and happy birthday messages from other musicians and well-wishers after winning the top prize at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards the previous year.
Black Sherif has joined Sarkodie, who accomplished this achievement in 2019, as the second Ghanaian musician to win the Best International Flow award.
