Black Sherif Clarifies He Did Not Direct Snapchat Post at Shatta Wale

Black Sherif, the Ghanaian musician, has denied online rumors that his Snapchat story was intended to mock Shatta Wale’s fashion sense following Shatta’s criticism of his dressing style.

During an interview with Nigeria’s City FM on December 5, 2024, Black Sherif clarified that his Snapchat post was not aimed at Shatta Wale. Blacko emphasized that he does not engage with critics of his fashion, stating that the ongoing feud was fueled by fans.

“I didn’t post anything on my Snap because of him. So, because someone went to do an interview, I shouldn’t post it on my snap? I didn’t reply anybody, and whatever they said online is just fan-fueled stuff… I don’t reply anything about my fashion stuff,” he explained.

Regarding Shatta Wale’s threats to damage his career, Black Sherif expressed indifference, saying he is not concerned with such threats.

Labeling the entire issue as “irrelevant,” Black Sherif stated, “This is the second time I’ve been asked this question, and I think the kind of attention I’m supposed to give that thing to even have something to say, I don’t have it right now.”

“It is pretty irrelevant in my world. The discourse and everything. You have to care about something to even accept it, I don’t care, and it’s not like in a disrespectful way,” he added.

The ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ hitmaker also clarified that he does not view Shatta Wale as a rival.

Background

On Thursday, October 31, 2024, Shatta Wale, during an appearance on the Bant, Rants, and Confessions podcast hosted by Efia Odo, criticized Black Sherif’s fashion sense, suggesting that the singer could improve his appearance.

This comment appeared to upset Black Sherif, who responded by posting a picture of Shatta Wale on Snapchat with the caption, “I plaster everywhere.”

In response, Shatta Wale expressed his dissatisfaction with Black Sherif’s Snapchat post, warning the artist: “Black Sherif, you are new in the music industry. If you have heard them saying I have said something about you, you won’t go and watch the podcast and know the good things I said about you.”
