The economy’s still-present colonial institutions has been lamented by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who noted that they continue to have a detrimental impact on the nation.
However, he pledged that firm action would be made to transition from this raw material production and export economy to an advanced, industrialised economy.
Before Covid-19 and the ravages of the Russia-Ukraine war, he claimed, all economic indicators were pointing towards achieving this objective.
This was stated by President Akufo-Addo on Friday, August 4, during a speech he gave to senior citizens at a banquet held in their honour to commemorate this year’s Founders’ Day.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia attended the event, which was hosted in the Jubilee House’s banquet hall.
