Marathon singer Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum was among the callers who called on Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace during the first Awukudae celebration of the year on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
The visit was to express appreciation for the good reception accorded by Otumfuo during Asantewaa’s second Guinness World Record attempt at the Baba Yara Stadium in December.
During the visit, the Asantehene commended the singer for her bravery and strong will. He said it was a great effort to show Ghana to the world through music. Asantewaa was joined at the Manhyia Palace by a host of people including Kwame Adinkra, Kofi Owusu Aduonum, Gladys Owiredu, Isaac Amponsah, and Asare Daniel.
She made her second Guinness World Record attempt between December 21 and 26 at the Heroes’ Park annex of the Baba Yara Stadium, located right in the heart of the Ashanti Region.
