The three top police officials at the centre of the exposed IGP audio tape have been warned by security consultant Richard Kumadoe to take accountability for their actions.
According to Mr. Kumadoe, if the three had been asked just three more probing questions, they would already be behind bars.
Speaking on Ghana’s TV3 The three senior police officers were only caught in a web of indiscretion, according to the fraud prevention specialist who was interviewed tonight on Tuesday, September 12.
“I believe there is a problem, but whatever it may be, they are law enforcement personnel. They are trained professionals, he said.
He said to broadcaster Alfred Ocansey, “Indiscretion has caught up with my three brothers and they should accept responsibility.”
He acknowledged that COP George Alex Mensah, Supt. Emmanuel Eric Gyebi, and Supt. George Lysander Asare’s acts had hurt him.
Dr. Akuffo Dampare addressed the seven-member panel, saying, “They came and made all these allegations in not trying to cover up, probably they became associated with what they got themselves involved in at the first place, and I, an innocent person, focused on my job, working in coordination with my team and all commands across the country to keep the country safe and make it to be at peace with itself, I have been asked to come and answer to these allegations, which are wild [and] baseless.”
“I have a spiritual sense that this is simply unfair. Honourable Chair, it’s just not right. Are we losing our sense of patriotism by allowing anyone to simply get up, level accusation after accusation, and then calling on citizens who travelled across the nation and stayed up for 48 hours without sleep to maintain peace to come and respond to false accusations that then became something?
