Following concerns made by hospital employees, a man posing as a doctor at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital was turned over to the police.
During usual rounds, hospital staff interviewed the middle-aged guy, who was later identified as Williams Cyril Kohen, and verified their suspicions.
After the hospital’s police station received the suspect, it forwarded the case to the Central Police Command for additional investigation.
According to the hospital’s public relations officer, Kwame Frimpong, the facility has put security measures in place to prevent incidents like these.

“Because that is not how things work at KATH, it is very difficult for people to come in and say they are doctors and begin working there. As a training institution, we have a team-based system where everyone on the team is familiar with one another. As a result, we have a very tight-knit community where everyone on the team is acquainted with one another. Therefore, you cannot suddenly join the team. Additionally, since teams are assigned to certain patients, you are unable to see any patients if you are not a member of the team.
