Leicester City Expresses interest in Fatawu Issahaku.

Before the summer transfer window closes, English Championship team Leicester City is mulling a move for Sporting CP winger Fatawu Issahaku.

The young player is thought to have been picked by Leicester as having the skills necessary to lead their charge as they aim to return to the Premier League after being demoted at the end of the previous season.

In recent weeks, Issahaku has also attracted the attention of Crystal Palace, who reportedly had their €8 million offer for the former Dreams FC midfielder turned down.

According to Portuguese media, Leicester City is considering a loan deal for Issahaku to bolster their attack in the current campaign.

The 19-year-old was not included in the preseason team due to ongoing transfer window negotiations, meaning he is not part of Sporting’s plans for this season.

Issahaku has struggled mightily for playing time with the Portuguese club, spending the majority of his time with the reserves and youth teams.

As a result of his unrealized potential, he is trying to achieve his achievement elsewhere.

In the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Issahaku shined for Ghana and helped the Black Satellites win the championship while winning the award for Best Player. He was included in the top eleven players in the competition.

In the last round of qualifying for the U-23 AFCON against Algeria, the former Steadfast FC player scored both goals to help Ghana win 2-1 on aggregate. He has also been a key contributor for the Bak Metoers.
