Ernest Nuamah, a promising young player, just passed his medical exams and is about to sign with French team Lyon.
With add-ons, the 19-year-old is set to surpass Jeff Reine-Adélade, who signed from Angers in 2019 for a sum of €25 million, as the newest member of the French Ligue 1 team. The club record transfer fee for the youngster is €30 million.
In addition, Nuamah will become the player who has cost FC Norsdaell the most money in a move, exceeding the previous record held by his countryman Kamaldeen Sulemana.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Nuamah will sign a five-year contract with the team as the youngster advances in his bright future.
Because of Nuamah’s outstanding performance for FC Nordsjaelland, a number of elite clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Reims, Ajax Amsterdam, Tottenham Hotspurs, and Burnley, expressed interest in him.
He does, however, follow in the footsteps of Michael Essien, a former Ghanaian international who had a successful career with the seven-time French champions.

Nuamah had an outstanding season with FC Nordsjaelland last year, contributing four assists and scoring 12 goals in the Danish top flight while also earning several honours, including the Danish Superliga Player of the Year award from the league’s jury, the Spring Best Player award from the Superliga head coaches, and the Player of the Year award from the Superliga participants.
Additionally, he was listed among the top 100 young people competing for the 2023 Golden Boy Award.
The talented young player has also made a significant contribution on the international stage, playing a key role for the Ghana U-23 team in both the qualifying matches and the main 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition.
He is also expected to keep his place in the Black Stars, having made his debut in their 2023 AFCON qualifier match against Madagascar in June.
