Serwaa Amihere, a broadcast journalist with multiple awards, has added her voice to the discussion about Ghanaian and Nigerian musicians.
She went on to say that Ghanaians should support these musicians rather than compare them in order to elevate them.
A few hours ago, after their Nigerian colleague Asake packed the O2 Arena in London, top Ghanaian musicians Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and others faced harsh criticism.
On Sunday night, Ahmed Oloade, also known as Asake, made history by being the first Nigerian newcomer to sell out the 20,000-seat O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.
The Mr. Money singer appeared on stage in a helicopter to raucous applause from the audience.
A medley of songs from his first album, “Mr. Money With The Vibe,” and his second album, “Work Of Art,” were performed by him.
He also invited Fireboy DML, Lil Kesh, and a number of other artists from the YBNL record label.
Asake has now joined the list of Nigerian performers who have sold out the O2 Arena, which also includes Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
As a result, some Ghanaians started to criticise local musicians for failing to achieve the same level despite having more expertise in the music business.
Serwaa Amihere believes otherwise, though. Why don’t we support them instead of making comparisons, she tweeted?
Although I lack expertise in this area, we can and ought do.
There must be a solution!
