Funke Akindele’s “Everybody Loves Jenifa” ranked highest earned Nigerian movie with over 1 billion naira earning.

Nollywood filmmaker Funke Akindele has etched her name in history with her new movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa. The movie has raked in over ₦1 billion, which is the highest earned by a Nollywood movie. This was disclosed by FilmOne Entertainment, the firm sharing the movie, via their Instagram handle. They noted that the movie has, so far, grossed an astonishing ₦1.466 billion and remains very strong at the box offiice.

Everybody Loves Jenifa has now made a record-breaking 1.466 Billion Naira and more at the box office making it the top-earning film ever! We want to say a big THANK YOU to our fantastic viewers in Nigeria and Ghana for helping us reach this goal! We couldn’t have done it without you. We’re aiming even higher! You can still watch it in cinemas near you come see the magic on the big screen.”

In less than two weeks since its release, Everybody Loves Jenifa has made over ₦1 billion in the box office, breaking the old record held by Toyin Abraham’s Alakada: Bad and Boujee. This only goes to show that Funke Akindele is one of the leaders in Nollywood and shows her continuous wins in Nigeria’s movie industry.

Funke Akindele’s journey in Nollywood has been amazing. Last year, her film A Tribe Called Judah was the first Nollywood movie to make over ₦1 billion, showing that she is the queen of the big screen. With Everybody Loves Jenifa, Akindele has shown again that she can capture audiences and succeed at the box office.

The Jenifa franchise started as a popular TV show and has become very well known in culture. Akindele’s character, Jenifa, is so lovable because of the humor she displays, how easy it is to relate to what she’s going through, and the lessons she teaches about life. In Everybody Loves Jenifa, Funke has taken her very famous character to a new level, telling a story that is funny and touching.
