The vice president and 2024 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has voted in the North East Region’s Walewale constituency.
The candidate for Ghana’s next president, Dr. Bawumia, cast his ballot at the polling place in his hometown.
Being Dr. Bawumia’s hometown, the Northeast Region’s Walewale constituency has great sentimental significance for him.
Both his presidential campaign and the NPP’s parliamentary candidate in the constituency are expected to benefit from his presence there in terms of voter turnout.
Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s candidate, has positioned himself as the man who can guide Ghana through its present difficulties by running on a platform of job creation, digital transformation, and economic recovery.
In the event that he is elected at the conclusion of the 2024 election cycle, his vote today represents a significant turning point in his quest to become Ghana’s first Muslim president.
